01/20/2026 Minutes PC (01/30/2026) MINUTES – Planning Commission Meeting ______________________________________________________________________________________ A Plan Commission meeting was held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Red Cedar Town Hall, E6591 627th Avenue, Menomonie, WI. 1. ROLL CALL/CALL TO ORDER. At 6:01 p.m., the meeting was called to order. Present were Planning Commission members Chad Haldeman, Greg Miller, Tim Nelson, and Bob Cook, as well as the Secretary/Clerk, Cheryl Miller. Leon Herrick was absent. 2. MINUTES. Motion by Greg Miller to approve the minutes of the November 18, 2025 meeting; motion seconded by Tim Nelson. None opposed. MC 3. PUBLIC COMMENTS. None. 4. BUSINESS to consider and act on, including possible recommendations to the Town Board: (a) CSM to separate farm house from farm land in the NW ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 14, Township 28 North, Range 12 West, commonly known as E7136 CTH E, Menomonie, WI. Jim Scheffler, survey, appeared and went over the CSM. Motion by Chad Haldeman to approve the CSM as presented; motion seconded by Greg Miller. None opposed. MC (b) Vertical Bridge Cell Tower on southside of 730th Avenue/Airport Commission recommendation. Members reviewed the recommendation to deny put forth by the Airport Commission. (c) Solar Ordinance. Further discussion on this matter was had by members, and they decided not to pursue this further at this time. (d) Updates to Town’s Comprehensive Plan, including adding information on solar and wind energy. Member continue to work on this. Solar will be added on Page 5, Goal 2, Objective 2. This item was postponed. 5. ADDITIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS. None. 6. COMMUNICATIONS/ANNOUNCEMENTS. None. 7. UPCOMING AGENDA ITEMS. Postponed items. 8. SET NEXT MEETING DATE: The next meeting was set for Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. 9. ADJOURN. At 7:45 p.m., the meeting was adjourned without objection.
