Plan Commission Minutes April 2025

Town of Menomonie Plan Commission Meeting Wednesday April 23, 2025 Time: 7:00 PM Scott called the meeting to order at 7pm Present: Scott, Lisa, LaMont, Tunde and Kent Absent: Tom and Matthew Approval of March 27, 2025, minutes: Tabled due to minutes not completed. Public: • None Work on Comprehensive Plan: Josh Miller from Cedar Corp was present to facilitate the meeting. Josh presented to the committee examples of community surveys from other municipalities for reference to help construct our own survey. Review Draft Agricultural, Cultural, and Natural Resources Chapter Goals and Objectives • The historical assessment was brought for possible update o Scott was going to contact Mellissa Kneeland from the Dunn Historical Society for some more information. • Lisa suggested goal is to preserve water quality be spelled out what town could do o Suggestion was made to engage with county to give them suggestions for them to use for creating a water quality ordinance o Mike Kneer mentioned that the county has an Agriculture Management ordinance that addresses some of the water quality issues. • Excessive light regulation was brought up as possibility for the Town. o Kent had research this issue from a past complaint. o He stated that it would be difficult to enforce due to the technical nature of measuring the standards. Review Draft of the Transportation Chapter • Josh reviewed with the Commission the transportation modes and information on the infrastructure in the town. • The chapter included information on all the future state transportation plans for various modes of transportation. • The Chapter also included a list of the State funding and grant opportunities the Town could use to maintain its roads. • The plan also listed the goals and objectives for the Town’s transportation system. Open commission discussion: • Mike Kneer talked about the county working on a wetland’s ordinance.
