NEILLSVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES Neillsville Public Library 409 Hewett Street Neillsville, WI 54456 TUESDAY, MAY 12, 2026 9:00 a.m. Call to Order at 9:02 am by Graeme Williams Roll Call Present: Graeme Williams, Bill Neville, Mary Sladich, Cory Peterson and Peggy Buchda, Absent: Maggie Gelhaus and Logan Grap. Also present Janay Ziebell, Kathy Wegner and Luke Friemoth Minutes of March 2026: Motion by Bill, second by Mary, to file the minutes from the March meeting as presented. All Aye. Librarians' reports: See attached. OLD BUSINESS Discussion/Action on Substitute Librarian to Library Assistant position and set date to conduct interviews with Personnel Committee: Date was set with Personnel Committee to interview for the substitute/assistant position on May 29th at 9:00 AM. NEW BUSINESS Discussion/Action on upcoming July Celebration during Heritage Days: Library Board members were invited to come to the celebration to help greet and serve refreshments and show people around the Library on Sunday, July 12th from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (with the parade in between) Peggy asked the board their opinion on holding the Library events on evenings when the Library is closed and if that was within the Director’s discretion. Library Board members don’t recall having any objections if a program worked better on those days. BILLS AND VOUCHERS: Motion by Peggy, second by Bill, to approve the bills, vouchers, balances and accounts. All Aye. BALANCES AND ACCOUNTS: Motion included in above LIBRARY UPCOMING EVENTS: Sue Berg, Author visit Wednesday, May 13th at 6:00 PM Miss Kathy entertains student visitors from Public School 1st and 2nd graders Summer program will start the beginning of June BYO Book Club meets third Tuesday, every month, all summer Sneak Peak new release book program is the 4th Thursday every month all summer Carnegie Award Celebration with America’s 250th Birthday Celebration during Heritage Days.
