2018 annual meeting

Town of Nekimi Annual Meeting April 18, 2018 The Town of Nekimi Annual Meeting was called to order by Chairman Glen Barthels at 7:00 p.m. at the Nekimi Town Hall. Chairman Barthels led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance. Members of the Nekimi Town Board, Glen Barthels, Tom Pollack and Larry Schweda, the Treasurer, Jessica Potratz Deputy Clerk, Jerry Braasch, and the Clerk, Kelsey Barthels, were introduced. Fire Chief Frank Sanchez was introduced. Announced that Troy Zacharias, Action Appraisers and Consultants is the Town Assessor. Announced that Michael Schraa is the State Representative. Announced that Robert Keller is the Winnebago County Board Supervisor District 32. There were 5 residents in attendance. The date for Open Book was announced and is on April 26, 2018 at 5:00 PM. The date for the Board of Review was announced for May 12, 2018 at 8:00 AM. The Clerk, Kelsey Barthels, read the minutes of the 2017 annual meeting. Motion was made by John McBrair to approve the minutes as read, 2nd Frank Sanchez. Carried by Voice Vote. The Clerk, Kelsey Barthels, presented a summary of the 2017 financial report. Copies of the report were made available to all in attendance. The Clerk asked if any additional information was needed on the detailed report. Julie Barthels moved to approve the report as presented, 2nd by Matt Potratz. Carried by Voice Vote. Fire Chief Frank Sanchez gave a report on the Nekimi Volunteer Fire Department. The Town Board and Residents thank each and every Volunteer Fire Fighter and First Responder for their hard work and dedication to the Town of Nekimi. Elected Official Salaries for 2019/2020 was discussed as well as per diem rate for 2019/2020. Frank Sanchez moved to increase elected official salaries as follows: Clerk $17,000, Treasurer and Chairperson $8500, Supervisors $ 4,250. 2nd by John McBrair. Carried by Voice Vote. Frank Sanchez moved to make per diem rate $40. 2nd by Julie Barthels. Carried by Voice Vote. Date and Time for the 2019 annual meeting was discussed. The annual meeting will be held on April 17, 2019, at 7 PM. No topics from residents mentioned. Jessica Potratz moved to Adjourn the 2018 Annual Meeting, 2nd by John Frank Sanchez.
