Village of Kohler Regular Village Board Meeting April 20, 2026 In the absence of President Thomas Schnettler, Trustee John Ewert called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Roll call was taken: John Ewert, Michael Wandschneider, Brett Edgerle, Kelly Kasten, Tracy Lyons and Laurie Lindow were present. Thomas Schnettler was absent. Village Attorney Mike Bauer was present. Staff members present: Mike Kitzerow, Shawn Splivalo and Cindi Gamb. Items of concern regarding the agenda, including public comment – Nikki Patterson, Kohler Co. legal counsel, requested approval of items 2a and 2c, both meet Village code. Patrick Johnson spoke against the newly implemented pool user fees. Approve meeting minutes from March 17, 2026 – Motion by Mike Wandschneider, second by Tracy Lyons to approve the meeting minutes from March 17, 2026. Motion carried. Business 1. The Finance Committee recommends the Village Board approve the following: a. March 2026 Revenue and Expense reports, bank reconciliation and journal entries – Motion by Laurie Lindow, second by Brett Edgerle to approve the March 2026 Revenue and Expense reports, bank reconciliation and journal entries. Motion carried. b. New hires for Recreation Department and Department of Public Works – Motion by Brett Edgerle, second by John Ewert to approve the new hires for Recreation Department and Department of Public Works as presented. Motion carried. c. Borrowing from Johnson Bank for 2026 capital outlay – $550,000 for a 2- year term at 3.75% interest. Motion by Mike Wandschneider, second by John Ewert to approve borrowing from Johnson Bank for 2026 capital outlay. Motion carried. d. Ordinance No. 2026-6, An Ordinance Amending Section 8.54 of the Municipal Code of the Village of Kohler, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, Regarding Recycling – Motion by Mike Wandschneider, second by John Ewert to approve Ordinance No. 2026-6, An Ordinance Amending Section 8.54 of the Municipal Code of the Village of Kohler, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, Regarding Recycling. A roll call vote was taken: John Ewert – aye, Mike Wandschneider – aye, Brett Edgerle – aye, Kelly Kasten – aye, Tracy Lyons – aye, Laurie Lindow – aye, Tom Schnettler – absent. Motion carried. e. Resolution No. 2026-3, A Resolution of the Village of Kohler to Update the Village of Kohler Municipal Deposit Schedule – Motion by Mike Wandschneider, second by John Ewert to approve Resolution No. 2026-3, A Resolution of the Village of Kohler to Update the Village of Kohler Municipal Deposit Schedule. Motion carried. f. Funding for stop sign installation at Deer Trace – Motion by Mike Wandschneider, second by John Ewert to approve funding for stop sign installation at Deer Trace. Motion carried. 2. The Planning Commission recommends the Village Board approve the following: a. Request from Woodlake Market, 795 Woodlake Road Suite A, for a building permit for new signage – Motion by Mike Wandschneider, second by John Ewert to approve request from Woodlake Market, 795 Woodlake Road Suite A, for a building permit for new signage. Motion carried. b. Request from Kohler Credit Union, 850 Woodlake Road, for a building permit for new signage – Motion by Mike Wandschneider, second by John Ewert to approve request from Kohler Credit Union, 850 Woodlake Road, for a building permit for new signage. Motion carried. c. Request from Big Joe’s for a building permit for new signage at 820 Commerce Lane – Motion by Mike Wandschneider, second by Tracy Lyons to approve request from Big Joe’s for a building permit for new signage at 820 Commerce Lane. Motion carried.
