Budget Hearing — Minutes

TOWN of BELVIDERE 2026 BUGET HEARING & SPECIAL TOWN MEETING November 11, 2025, 7 PM Cochrane VFW Post 10406 Chairman Ron Speltz called the Budget Hearing to order at 7 PM. All Board members present and three residents in attendance. The Proposed 2026 Budget was published October 23, 2025, in the Buffalo County News and posted per WI Statutes. The proposed Budget was presented with Town Property Tax Levy - $78,023 (no change from last year). Shared Revenue will increase to $131,942 and Transportation Aids increased to $91,299 for 2026. There is a $200,000 carryover to complete the Rose Valley Dugway road work not completed in 2025. Revenue amounts to a 3% increase for the 2026 Budget. With no comments or questions Supervisor Scott Rolbiecki made a Motion to close at 7:01 pm. Supervisor Lee Engfer seconded the Motion. Motion carried. At 7:01 pm a Special Town Meeting was called to order by Chairman Ron Speltz for the following purposes: 1) Resolution 2025-02 “To Exceed State spending limits on Town Roads in 2026: Supervisor Engfer made a motion to adopt Resolution 2025-02 to $400,000 in lieu of the $153,950 limit. Supervisor Rolbiecki seconded the Motion. Motion carried 3 Ayes & 0 Nays & 0 Absent. Resolution signed and attested to by the Town Clerk. 2) Supervisor Engfer made a Motion to adopt the 2025 Town Levy to be paid in 2026 at $78,023.00 with Supervisor Rolbiecki seconding. Motion carried. At 7:05 PM, Supervisor Rolbiecki made a Motion to close the Special Town Meeting with Supervisor Engfer seconding. Motion carried.
