Public Works / Streets / Recycling Committee now Public Works / Utilities March 25, 2026, – 5:48 Minutes prepared by: Peter Schaffner The meeting was called to order at 5:48 pm by Peter Schaffner. Roll call: Peter Schaffner Barb Schmidtknecht, David Endres. Others present: Mayor Ben Adank, Janet Alcamo, Travis Williamson, Jeff Puterbaugh, Jim Kafer, Linda Stennes. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Motion Barb, second David to approve the minutes of the March 3, 2026, meeting. Motion carried and the minutes were approved. Motion Barb, second David to forward a recommendation to council t o approve an Effective Recycling Program Ordinance. Required by DNR. Ordinance 2026-02 Ordinance Relating to Operating an Effective Recycling Program. Motion carried. A discussion was held about parking issues throughout the city. Moved to the Zoning committee and became part of an overall parking ordinance. A discussion was held on limiting the number of Airbnb’s in Fountain City. Moved to the Zoning committee. Items for future consideration: Hill Street Wall. Location of curb stops on Justin Hill Street. Complete a list of homes with springs in basement. If spring is going to sewer, make removal a condition of sale. Water run off on main street near The Cat-Tail Area to place snow when hauled from city streets. Truman Street long term discussion. Repairs, future use, ditch, cost. Motion Barb, second David to adjourn, Motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 6:35 pm.
