Planning Commission Meeting — Minutes

VILLAGE OF FOOTVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING TUESDAY, MAY 5, 2026 MINUTES 1. The Village of Footville Planning Commission meeting was called to order at 6:15 pm by Chairperson Sandy Baertschi. 2. Committee members present: Sandy Baertschi and Nathaniel Francis. Also present: Jeff Garde and Frank McKearn. 3. Rezoning and Conditional Use Permit for 148 Railroad Street: Rite Industrial Movers LLC applied to rezone their property at 148 Railroad Street from C1 General Commercial to I1 Light Industrial which will allow for the manufacturing of concrete statuary on the property. They have also applied to update their Conditional Use Permit to allow for the manufacture of concrete statuary. Motion by S. Baertschi, 2nd by N. Francis to recommend to the Village Board to approve the rezoning and Conditional Use Permit for Rite Industrial Movers LLC. Motion carried unanimously. 4. Land division – 345 Edward St/432 W State Road 11: A minor land division has been requested between 345 Edward Street and 432 W State Road 11. The land division will square off the lot at 345 Edward Steet. Motion by N. Francis, 2nd by S. Baertschi to recommend to the Village Board to approve the minor land division. Motion carried unanimously. 5. Review status of properties previously notified via clean-up letters, discuss any new properties that need to be contacted: Several residents that have been notified have made some progress with cleaning up their properties. The Police Department will be contacting the properties that have are still in violation of Village ordinances. 6. DISCUSSION ON OTHER MATTERS NOT PROPOSED FOR ACTION: None 7. SET DATE OF NEXT MEETING: The next meeting of the Planning Commission will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 6 pm. 8. ADJOURNMENT: Motion to adjourn by S. Baertschi, 2nd by N. Francis.
