City of Fox Lake Council Meeting Minutes Wednesday , April 1 , 202 6 at 6:30 p.m. The regular meeting of the City of Fox Lake Common Council was held on Wednesday, April 1 , 202 6 , at 6:30 p.m., in the council chambers. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Tom Bednarek . Followed by the Pledge of Allegiance the roll call was taken with A lderpersons Marcy Benz, Peter Hartzheim , Joe Horetzki, Dennis Linke and Angela Thomas present. Dan Ault was absent. Also attending were City Administrator Kelly Crombie , DPW Superintendent Christopher Thurk , Police Chief Duane Olbinski and City Clerk Jenny Quirk . The clerk certified open meeting laws have been complied with. Approve Minutes: Motion by Linke , seconded by Benz to approve the minutes of the March 1 8 , 202 6 council meeting as written . Motion carried with a voice vote. Public comments on agenda items or other matters : Mayor opens the meeting to public comments on agenda items or other matters. Martin Brown of 405 Green St. recorded himself addressing the council. There were no other comments from the public. Consent Agenda : Motion by Thomas , seconded by Hartzheim to p ay the bills, as audited, for accounts payable- check #47094 through #47175 totaling $278,089.22 (including ACH withdrawals) and payroll checks #63350 through #63393 checks, totaling $49,000.82. Motion carried with a voice vote. 2025 Audit Results: Discussion of 2025 Audit results with City Auditor Baker Tilly. Senior Auditor Justin Hoagland of Baker Tilly addressed the council to issue the 2025 audit report and share financial highlights. Resolution 9 -2026: Motion by Hartzheim , seconded by Thomas to approve resolution 9-2026, a resolution regarding the amount of public fire protection charges being charged to the general fund . Vote in favor: Benz , Hartzheim and Linke. Opposed: Horetzki and Thomas . Motion passed. Resolution 10 -2026: Motion by Benz , seconded by Hartzheim to approve resolution 10-2026, a resolution naming Ruenger Way in honor of Mayor Wayne Ruenger. Motion carried with a voice vote. With no other business to come before the Council, motion by Linke , seconded by Hartzheim to adjourn. Motion carried with a voice vote. Meeting adjourned at 6: 5 2 p.m.
