COMMON COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS September 3, 2025 at 4:30 p.m. Special Meeting Mayor Hauser, Presiding Present: Johnson, Mathson, Morris (arrives 4:41 p.m.), Sendelbach, Solsrud, Sunday Jay Shambeau of Innovative Public Advisors Jess Wildes of Innovative Public Advisors and Clerk-Treasurer Witte join the meeting at 6:30 p.m. The meeting was called for the specific purpose of interviewing in person two candidates for the position of City Administrator and possible consideration of employment. Jess Wildes of Innovative Public Advisors and Clerk Witte gave each candidate a tour of the City, while the other candidate interviewed with the Council. Council Member Solsrud made a motion at 4:34 p.m. to go into Closed Session pursuant to Wisconsin Statue 19.85(1) (c), “Considering employment, promotion, compensation and performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the government body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility…”, specifically, for the purpose of interviewing applicants for the position of City Administrator. Council Member Johnson seconded, and the motion carried on a roll call vote as follows: Ayes – Johnson, Mathson, Sendelbach, Solsrud, Sunday Nays – 0 Council Member Morris arrives at 4:41 p.m. Jess Wildes and Clerk Witte join the meeting at 6:30 p.m. Mayor Hauser brought the meeting back into open session at 7:55 p.m. by unanimous consent. Council Member Solsrud made a motion to hire Wendy Bednarz for the position of City Administrator, pending a background check and approval an employment agreement. Council Member Mathson seconded, and the motion carried on a voice vote as follows.
