Evert Director of Administrative Services Chris Holtom Animal Control Matt Atkinson 1. CALL TO ORDER Scott Beyer called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m 2. ROLL CALL Present were Scott Beyer, Tom Hansen, Mike Kelnhofer and Trustee Cathy Hughes. Humane Officer Atkinson had been called away on an emergency call but would be back prior to meeting end. 3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Scott Beyer led the meeting in the pledge. 4. APPROVE THE AGENDA FOR THE MEETING The agenda was unanimously approved. 5. PROPOSING TO THE HOWARD VILLAGE BOARD TO MAKE THE DEER COMMITTEE A STANDING COMMITTEE Discussion was held; it was unanimously agreed upon to request the Howard Village Board to allow a standing committee as this is still a very new endeavor. 6. POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS TO BE DISCUSSED FOR ALTERNATE HUNTER STATUS IF PRIMARY HUNTER IS UNABLE TO HUNT IN DESIGNATED AREA. Discussion was held for alternate hunters; no decision was made. 7. ONE HUNTER FOR PRIMARY , MAYBE ONE ADDITIONAL HUNTER IF MENTORED HUNTER THAT IS IN COMPLIANCE WITH DNR STATUTE 29.592. After discussion the item will be brought to the Howard Village Board for consideration. 8. HARRASSMENT INCIDENTS OCCURRING AND REMEDIES Incidents and harassment to be report to DNR and/or Howard DEO’s. 9. KEEP THE SAME REQUIREMENTS FOR HUNTINGS SKILLS Discussion on requirements, unanimous on keeping the same skill set requirements, to be sent to Village Board for Approval. 10. PUBLIC APPEARANCES The meeting was well attended, several persons provided suggestions to make the program more successful. Human Officer Matt Atkinson arrived at the meeting 6:45 p.m., during the public appearances. He was advised of the discussions prior to his arrival. 11. SET THE NEXT MEETING DATE The next meeting date was set for July 16th, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. 12. ADJOURN THE MEETING The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
