CITY OF VERONA BOARD OF REVIEW MINUTES June 8, 2026 Council Chambers 1. Call to Order: Mayor Diaz called the meeting to order at 6:47 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Mara Helmke, Chris Weiss, Patrick Lytle, Beth Tucker Long, Holly Licht, Luke Diaz, Alejandro Hernandez (via Zoom), Lachlann Swanson, Phil Hoechst and Spencer Harrison. Assessor Dean Peters was present via Zoom. 3. Select Chair for Board of Review: Motion by Helmke, seconded by Hoechst to appoint Mayor Diaz as chair of the Board of Review. Motion carried 10-0. 4. Board of Review Training Verification: Clerk Licht noted that she and Alderperson Hernandez completed the 2026 training and the affidavit has been filed with the Department of Revenue. 5. Assessment Roll Update: Dean Peters stated that he is completing a market update this year. Assessment letters will go out in a few weeks. He is estimating that there will be a 12% increase for residential properties and 11% increase for commercial properties. 6.
