Collection Management
Two mini-Yoto kits were introduced to our children’s kit collections, one for big kids and one for
little kids. The Facebook posts introducing them received over 400 positive responses. They
currently have 10 and 16 holds and we’re ordering another little kids’ kit right away. We’re also
looking into circulating individual Tonies and Yotos, which have storage, shelving, and
circulation decisions associated with them.
Number of items added to and deleted from the library collection through March 2026. Due to
the software migration, a technical services freeze started March 31 and lasted through April
16. Due to the ILS migration, data for April is not available yet.

Summer Reading Program school visits began on May 20 and are scheduled through June 9.
Teen volunteers are steadily signing up to volunteer for the summer through our volunteer
application on our web page, with trainings in early June and shifts beginning June 20. Slight
modifications have been made to the reading program log, but it’s essentially the same as last
year, with kids tracking any day that they do reading, earning coupons and free books at the 20,
40 and 60-day thresholds. There will be new coupons this year from Ian’s Pizza, Sugar River
Pizza, and JonnyO’s Pizzeria in Belleville (can there be too much pizza? We think not). This
summer’s theme is “Unearth a Story,” so some summer programming focuses on dinosaurs.
