F:\MyFiles\wp6data\HISTORIC PRESERVATION\HPC Minutes 9.3.2026.docx TOWN OF WESTPORT HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION – September 3, 2026 A regular meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Werner in the Community Meeting Room at the Bernard J. Kennedy Administration Building/Town Hall. Members Present: Werner, Moore, Lange, Crowell and Will. Members Absent: None. Public Present: None. Werner confirmed that this meeting conforms with open meetings law. There was no public comment on matters not on the agenda. The minutes of August 6, 2026, HPC meeting were approved on a motion by Lange, second Will. State Trail Marker - Werner provided an update on historical markers, noting that Town staff has set concrete for mounting posts and are preparing to install signs by week of September 7. Will shared with HPC that he corresponded with Town staff regarding dedication event and will work to find a suitable time that works for attendees. Will provided a preliminary list of potential attendees. GIS Mapping Project - Moore updated HPC on progress of historic maps which is ongoing. He shared his work of collecting all existing known sites and points of potential historic interest in a database that will be used to then update maps. Misc. Matters/Forthcoming Events - Werner will discuss historical marker with Town board. - Werner provided general update as to timing of upcoming public hearing on incorporation and Board of Review meeting.
