Assistant Village Manager Berzin presented the 2026 Salary Survey results
performed every two years to make sure the Village is in line with neighboring
communities and with the market. A salary data request was sent to the same nine
communities used in the 2024 survey and added in the Northshore communities.
After receiving results, the Village Manager ’s Office began to meet with
department heads and the finance team to review the data received. The results
showed eleven positions were out of the market range ; Village Manager, Chief of
Police, two captains in the police department, DPW superintendent, Village Clerk,
Equipment Operator, two Utility leads, Utility Operator one, and Administrative
Assistant in DPW.
The data results were provided to the board members with two options to analyze.
The proposed rate would bring them all to average while looking at where they are
at in the midpoint along with the rate of strictly only with the three percent COLA
(cost-of-living adjustment) increase. There will be an additional $26,786.95 to bring
all positions into the market value on top of the three percent COLA. The
municipalities surveyed included: Bayside, Brown Deer, Cedarburg, Fox Point,
Greendale, Greenfield, Mequon, Middleton, Milwaukee, Monona, Port
Washington, Sussex, Wauwatosa, West Allis, and Whitefish Bay. Salary survey
was per position depending on job description and the size of the municipality. It
will be presented to the board in the budget and a decision will be made.
No action was taken . Trustee Couto moved to adjourn and it was seconded by Trustee
Warren. The meeting was adjourned at 7:12pm.
