Town of New Hope August Regular Board Meeting
Wednesday, August 20, 2025 – 6:00 pm
North New Hope Church, 845 County Road T North, Amherst Junction, WI
Members Present: Chair Todd Knepfel, Supervisors Timm Raddatz and Ray Reser
Also present: Treasurer Dorene Stolpa, Clerk Pat Zellmer
Guests: Jonathan Intribus, Raymond Mayek
1. Call to order, followed by Pledge of Allegiance. The Regular August Town Board meeting was
called to order by Chair Knepfel at 6:00 pm.
2. Review/Approval of Minutes. Prior to the meeting, Open Meeting and July Regular Town
Board Meeting minutes were circulated to the Board via email, and posted as drafts on the
town website. Raddatz moved to accept the Open Meeting and July Regular Town Board
Meeting minutes as written, seconded by Knepfel. Motion carried, 2-0. Approved minutes
will be posted on the town website.
3. Persons who wish to address the Board. Jonathan Intribus and Raymond Mayek appeared
before the Board. Intribus has agreed to pay $575 for five garbage carts damaged in July
($100 payments, starting in September); he also agreed to work at the Recycling Event in
September, with payment applied toward that debt. Payments will be sent to Treasurer
Stolpa.
4. Road Report. Wedging work has been initiated on Trout Creek Road, Pine Tree Trail, River
Road, S. Lake Rd and Krogwold Rd by B&B Paving. Seal Coating (Scott Construction) will
continue on Rainbow’s End. Swenson is finishing brushing on Krogwold Road.
5. Town Hall. Zellmer will draft a letter to Brian Shulfer regarding the old Town Hall.
6. 2025 Fall Recycling Event. Details for the New Hope Fall Recycling Event are complete.
• Saturday, September 13, from 9:00 – 1:00 – 9785 Town Hall Road
i. Postcards (including prices) will be mailed to residents as a reminder. Prices
will be posted on the website.
• As an alternative, Habitat for Humanity will be hosting an Electronics
Fundraiser $20/car, max 15 items. Saturday, September 6th: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM,
1800 Plover Road, Plover (Old Younkers Parking Lot).
7. WI Towns Unit meeting New Hope hosted the July Towns Unit meeting July 28, with
approximately 40 attending. Presentations were made by County Board Chair Reser and
others.
8. New Business
• 2025 Fall Towns Workshop – September – at least one member will attend virtually.
• Amanda Haffele (Portage County Solid Waste) approached the Board to propose
working with Harter’s and Marathon Co. Landfill for recycling, and will submit a final
proposal in late August, which should reduce recycling costs for town residents.
• If accepted, DNR Recycling Grants and Reports would be handled through Portage
County Solid Waste (after 2025 report is filed in spring).
9. Payment of Bills. Reser moved to pay the June bills totaling $37,340.69, seconded by
Raddatz. Motion carried, 3-0.
10. Next meeting date. The Regular September Town Board Meeting is set for Monday,
September 15, 6:00 pm.
11. Adjournment. Reser moved to adjourn at 7:10, seconded by Raddatz. Motion carried, 3-0.
