Fire & EMS Committee Minutes 32288 Bushnell Road / Burlington WI 53105 July 16, 2025 1. Call to order Chairman Czaplewski called to order the first meeting of the Fire & EMS committee at 7:03 PM. The meeting was held in the Town Hall auditorium. Committee members Neal Czaplewski, Jeff Rice, Fire Chief Bill Vrchota, Assistant Chief Scott Wingreen, Deputy Chief Devin Chart, and Sara Van Dusseldorp were in attendance. 2. Discussion on Town’s future EMS direction Czaplewski allowed each member to introduce themselves and speak on their goals for the committee. Czaplewski stated that he would like the committee to meet weekly for about 5-6 weeks to review the possibility of an in-house EMS program or contracting the service. The committee discussed several of the components of an in-house EMS program including the town’s call volume, capital costs, revenue, and staffing scenarios. The next meeting will be Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 6:30PM in the Town Hall auditorium. The committee will look at the town’s demographics, the breakdown of the call volume and capital outlay. Chief Vrchota will work with Town Administrator Naber to develop a budget. 3. Adjournment Rice motioned to adjourn at 8:12PM; Vrchota seconded. Motion carried.
