DATE: September 30, 2026 Village Trustee Vacancy The Village of Somers is accepting applications to fill a vacant seat on the Village Board. About the Vacancy A vacancy on the Village Board has been created following the resignation of former trustee Scott Fredrick. The appointment is until the term expires April 2027. Eligibility • Be a resident of the Village of Somers • Be a qualified elector (eligible to vote) How to Apply Residents who are interested in the appointment are to submit a letter of interest (LOI) to the Village Clerk/Treasurer, Wendy Burnette. The criterion for the LOI shall include the following: 1. Full name and contact information 2. Confirmation that you are a resident of the Village of Somers 3. A statement that you are seeking appointment to the position 4. A brief explanation of why you are interested in serving in the position 5. Your understanding of the responsibilities of a Village Trustee 6. Your professional experience, and any experience you feel is relevant to the position 7. Confirming that you’re available to attend Village Work Session and Regular meetings. If you have any potential scheduling conflicts on a regular basis, then please describe. 8. Any prior service to the Village or the community 9. A statement confirming your willingness to comply with applicable ethics, open- meeting, public-records, and conflict-of-interest requirements 10.
