Village of Somers Proceedings of the Board of Review Meeting September 23, 2026 – 12:00 p.m. Clerk Burnette called the Board of Review meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. Present: Village Chair Joe Huck, Mark Johnson, and Marianne Kraus. Also present were Tyler Tannock, Village Assessor; Jaime Staffaroni, Village Attorney; and Wendy Burnette, Clerk/Treasurer. Clerk Burnette confirmed that the required Board of Review and Open Meeting notices had been provided. Board Member Johnson moved to elect Joe Huck as Chair of the 2026 Village of Somers Board of Review. The motion was seconded by Board Member Kraus. Motion carried, 3-0. Clerk Burnette verified that the Board of Review training requirements and ordinance confidentiality requirements had been met. Chair Huck asked Mark Hoban to present his case to the Board. Mr. Hoban represented Flint 94 as an authorized representative. Mr. Hoban explained the basis for requesting a reduction in the assessment. Assessor Tannock presented the basis for the assessment and explained how the assessment was determined. The Board deliberated regarding the evidence and information presented by the objector and the assessor. Board Member Johnson moved that the Board of Review sustain the assessor’s valuation of the property at $53,156,500. The motion was seconded by Board Member Kraus. Motion carried, 3-0. At 1:05 p.m., the Board recessed to examine the assessment roll and to determine whether any corrections were necessary, including: a. Examine the assessment roll. b. Correct description or calculation errors. c. Add omitted property. d. Eliminate double-assessed property. At 1:59 p.m., the Board reconvened from recess. Chair Huck asked Clerk Burnette whether any corrections had been made to the assessment roll during the recess. Clerk Burnette indicated that no corrections had been made. At 2:03 p.m., Chair Huck called for a motion to adjourn. Chair Huck moved to adjourn the Board of Review meeting. The motion was seconded by Board Member Johnson. Motion carried, 3-0.
