Re: Request to amend the Town of New Hope Comprehensive Plan
Commission Members Present: Todd Knepfel (Chair), Dan Zaborowski, Ray Reser
Rezoning Request Applicant and Surveyor Representative: Rhonda Fechter, Erin Whipple
Guests: Helen Klimowicz
1. Call to order. The meeting was called to order at 11:00 am by Chair Knepfel.
Roll call and verification of quorum. All members of the committee were in attendance.
Certification of compliance with public notice requirements. Clerk Zellmer confirmed that public
notice had been adequately posted.
Approval of agenda. The agenda was approved by the committee.
2. Approval of minutes from January 21, 2025 Plan Commission meeting. Minutes were mailed to the
Committee prior to the meeting; hard copies were made available to the Commission and attending
public. Reser made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Zaborowski; motion carried 3:0.
3. Public comments. Helen Klimowicz addressed the Commission with concerns about approving the
requested amendment to the Comprehensive Plan.
4. Discussion/Possible Action. Chair Todd Knepfel presented a review of the previous meeting, a
brief history of the petition, and Fechters’ request to rezone 0.22 acres included in parcel 026-24-
1015-12.13 from A1 Exclusive Agricultural to R2 Single Family Residence (with the remaining lot
designated as an outlot on a new Certified Survey Map in order to create a buildable lot. Discussion
ensured. Reser moved to approve the change; seconded by Zaborowski. Motion carried 3:0.
5. Adjourn. Reser moved to adjourn the meeting at 11:35 am, seconded by Zaborowski. Motion carried
3:0.
