Addendum: Current Chicken Coop Ordinance 1. Current ordinance is restricted to 2 acres or more with no requirement for a permit. 2. No actions have been taken to address the ordinance unless a complaint is filed. 3. No citations have been issued in recent years. Kenosha County Ordinance 1. There is no county-wide chicken coop ordinance. It is up to each municipality to decide. Complaints 1. We must address complaints that are in violation of the current ordinance. Proposed Changes to the Current Ordinance 1. Review ordinances from other municipalities and decide what we should adopt and how it will be enforced. What We Need to Do Next 1. We need to define a new ordinance that will be enforced via permitting and review of placement. 2. Determine what to do about existing structures and animals. 3. Determine how to make the residents aware of a new ordinance and how it will be enforced.
