Minutes– TOWN OF BARABOO PLAN COMMISSION MEETING The Town of Baraboo Plan Commission held a meeting on Tuesday, October 5, 2026 at 6:15 PM at the Baraboo Town Hall, located at 101 Cedar Street, Baraboo, WI 53913. AGENDA 1. Called the meeting to order at 6:13 pm and verified compliance with Wisconsin’s open meeting laws. Posting on website and town posting boxes 2. Plan commission members Steve Hess , Randy Puttkamer, Al Stanek, Pat Sprecher, and Lea Ann Gieck were introduced and present 3. Motion by Randy Puttkamer to adopt the meeting agenda, seconded by Pat Sprecher. Motion carried unanimously. 4. Motion by Lea Ann Gieck to adopt the minutes of the September 8, 2026 meeting, seconded by Al Stanek. Motion carried unanimously. 5. No Citizens appeared to speak on non-agenda topics. 6. Pat Sprecher made a motion to move to town board for approval a special exception permit to authorize a tourist rooming house/short term rental for Daniel Cleveland, at S5730 Coleman Rd, Town of Baraboo, Sauk County, WI, tax parcel 002-1307-11300. Seconded by Randy Puttkamer. The property is an existing single family home located in the Sanitary sewer district, currently being used as a short term rental. Stipulation of maximum of 10 occupants unless the owner shows a different calculation. Motion carried unanimously. 7. Motion made by Randy Puttkamer to move to town board for approval proposed update to Chapter 7 Sauk County Zoning ordinance. Seconded by Al Stanek. The update was started last calendar year. Motion carried unanimously. 8. D Cassandra Fowler from Sauk County will present Survey Data Review and lead discussion on the natural resources, Economic development and Agriculture portions of the Town of Baraboo Comprehensive Plan. No changes to the current comprehensive plan at this meeting. Competed survey data. Next meeting set goals begin work on an updated comprehensive plan. 9. Under communications, updates, and reports, Randy spoke of inquiry from a campground in township to rent out yearlong, and it was noted that they would need to apply for a State permit. Extensive work being done near the point of rocks may trigger erosion control, discussion of new entrance to forest park off Terrytown Road, Development of bike trail 0n 136. Some discussion of construction at forest park. 10. Next meetings are set for November 2nd, 2026 and December 7th 2026. 11.
