Plan Commission Meeting — Agenda packet

Minutes – TOWN OF BARABOO PLAN COMMISSION MEETING The Town of Baraboo Plan Commission held a meeting on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at 6:18 PM at the Baraboo Town Hall, located at 101 Cedar Street, Baraboo, WI 53913. 1. Meeting to order at 6:18 PM and plan commission chair verified compliance with Wisconsin’s open meeting laws by posting the agenda on September 4, 2026, in the three town posting boxes. 2. Plan commission members Steve Hess, Randy Puttkamer, Al Stanek, Pat Sprecher, and Lea Ann Gieck were present and introduced. No other town officials were present. 3. Motion to adopt meeting agenda made by Pat Sprecher, seconded by Randy Purrkamer. Motion carried unanimously. 4. Approval of the minutes of August 3, 2026, meeting postponed, 5. No Citizens appeared to speak on non-agenda topics. 6. Randy Puttkamer made a motion to move to town board for approval a special exception permit authorizing a tourist rooming house/short term rental for Jeremy Traska, at S5699 Devils Lake Parkway, Town of Baraboo, Sauk County, WI, tax parcel 002-1307-12800. Seconded by Pat Sprecher. The property is a newly constructed single-family Home located in the Sanitary sewer district in the Tranquility subdivision. Approval contingent upon payment of fees to town. Plan Commission noted that the owner/agent is technically in a 25-mile radius but farther by road travel. Motion carried unanimously. 7. Pat Sprecher made a motion to move to town board for approval a special exception permit to authorize a tourist rooming house/short term rental for Mike Licari, Town of Baraboo, S5775 Coleman Road, Town of Baraboo, Sauk County, WI, tax parcel 002-1307-10900. Seconded by Lea Ann Geick The property is an existing single-family Home located in the Sanitary sewer district, Tranquility Subdivision. The owner agreed to put a 10-person limit in rules and will pay fees to the clerk at the town board meeting. Motion carried unanimously. 8. Cassandra Fowler from Sauk County presented Survey Data and led discussion on the housing and transportation element of the Town of Baraboo Comprehensive Plan. No changes to the current comprehensive plan for this meeting. The next meeting will be a presentation on natural resources, Economic development and Agriculture portions of the survey. 9. Some discussion only on how room tax would impact campgrounds. 10. Under communications, updates, and reports it was noted that there had been some difficulty in connecting with the town building inspector and that there may need to be communication with General Engineering. 11. Dates for the next meetings are set as October 5th, 2026, and November 2nd, 2026 12. Motion to adjourn made by Lea Ann Gieck, seconded by Randy Puttkamer.
