Minutes – TOWN OF BARABOO PLAN COMMISSION MEETING The Town of Baraboo Plan Commission held a meeting on Monday, July 6, 2026 at 6:17 PM at the Baraboo Town Hall, located at 101 Cedar Street, Baraboo, WI 53913. AGENDA 1. Meeting to order at 6:17 PM and Steve Hess verified compliance with Wisconsin’s open meeting laws, agenda was posted online and in three posting boxes on Friday July 3, 2026 2. Plan commission members Steve Hess, Randy Puttkamer, Al Stanek, Pat Sprecher, and Lea Ann Gieck were introduced and present. 3. Motion to Adopt the agenda for this meeting made by Randy Puttkamer, seconded by Pat Sprecher. Motion carried unanimously. 4. No motion to Adopt the minutes of the June 1, 2026 meeting, meeting notes were not yet completed. 5. No Citizens appeared to speak on non-agenda topics. 6. Motion by Randy Puttkamer to move to town board a Special Exception Permit for Catherine and Pavel Mayer for the operation of a lodging house located at S5731 Devils Lake Parkway Town of Baraboo, Sauk County, WI. Tax parcel number is 002-1307-11800, CONTINGENT on house rules including maximum capacity is listed. Seconded by Al Stanek. Motion carried unanimously. 7. Presentation of Community Survey information for the Town of Baraboo Comprehensive Plan was made by Cassandra Fowler from Sauk County. Cassandra remotely presented virtually population demographic data. Several citizens attended with specific questions about rezoning properties. 8. Review tourist rooming house permits on file payments made with the town. 9. Under communications it was mentioned that we had another tourist rooming house under development in the town. Some concern in the town with increases in Tourist rooming houses was communicated 10. Next meeting date was set for August 3, 2025. Steve Hess will prepare agenda but will be unable to attend that meeting 11. Motion to Adjourn made at 7:50 PM by Randy Puttkamer, seconded by Pat Sprecher. Motion carried unanimously. A quorum of the Baraboo Town Board (3) did attend this meeting to gather information but no board action was. Minutes by Steve Hess – Plan Commission Chairperson.
