Minutes TOWN OF BARABOO PLAN COMMISSION MEETING The Town of Baraboo Plan Commission held a meeting on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 6:15 PM at the Baraboo Town Hall, located at 101 Cedar Street, Baraboo, WI 53913. AGENDA 1. Meeting to order at 6:15 PM and Steve Hess verified compliance with Wisconsin’s open meeting laws, agenda was posted online and in three posting boxes on Thursday May 28, 2026 2. Plan commission members Randy Puttkamer, and Lea Ann Gieck were introduced. Steve Hess attended by phone. Al Stanek and Pat Sprecher did not attend 3. Motion made by Steve Hess to adopt the agenda for this meeting. Seconded by Lea Ann Gieck. Motion carried unanimously 4. Motion made by Steve Hess to adopt the minutes of the May 4, 2026 plan commission meeting. Seconded by Lea Ann Gieck. Motion carried unanimously 5. No Citizens appeared to speak on non-agenda topics. 6. Motion made by Steve Hess to move forward to the Town board for approval a Special Exception Permit for Charlie Chmielewski on behalf of Rittenhouse Realty LLC, for the operation of a lodging house located at S5667 Old Lake Road, Town of Baraboo, Sauk County, WI. Tax parcel number is 002-0350-30000. House rules show 8 as maximum capacity Seconded by Lea Ann Gieck. Motion carried unanimously 7. Motion made by Steve Hess to move forward to the Town board for approval of a CSM submitted by Josh Murphy, ASR Surveying on behalf of Richard Hauer. Lots are located at S5675 State Road Highway 136, Town of Baraboo, Sauk County, WI. Tax parcel numbers are 002-0272-60000 and 002-0272-70000. CSM involves movement of lines between two existing parcels. Lots are served by a long private drive (2,000+ ft) on an easement crossing several lots, and Sauk county will require an easement document to be filed. The town engineer recommends that the driveway easement document be approved prior to final approval/signature on CSM. Seconded by Lea Ann Gieck. Motion carried unanimously 8. Information only presented from the Community Survey for the Town of Baraboo Comprehensive Plan by Cassandra Fowler from Sauk County. 77 responses were recorded. No changes to the current comprehensive plan at this meeting. 9. Review tourist rooming house permits on file payments made with the town. 10. Give communications, updates, and reports. 10. Dates for the next meetings set at July 6th, 2026 11. Motion to Adjourn made at 7:50 PM by Steve Hess, seconded by Lea Ann Gieck. Motion carried unanimously.
