Minutes Town of New Hope Public Hearin on 2025 Budget and Budget Summary Friday, November 8, 2024, 6:00 pm 845 County Road T North, Amherst Junction, WI Board Members in attendance: Chair Todd Knepfel, Supervisor Timm Raddatz, Supervisor Ray Reser. Also present: Treasurer Dorene Stolpa, Clerk Pat Zellmer Guests 1. The Public Hearing on the 2025 Budget was called to order by Chair Knepfel at 6:03 pm, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. 2. Chair Knepfel read the 2025 Budget Proposal, with detailed explanations for each item. Documents were posted on the town website, and hard copies provided for attendants and board members. 3. Discussion ensued regarding the $30,000 for capital improvements. Supervisor Reser called the question. Supervisor Raddatz moved to approve; motion carried. 4. Attending town residents voted on Resolution 2024-04: Resolution by Town Electors to endorse the Town Board’s resolution to exceed the levy limit by 36.931%, over the state’s allowable 2024 levy limit, for a dollar increase of $46,044. Resolution No. 2024-04: Number of town electors voting Aye: 14 Number of town electors voting Nay: 8 Number of town electors abstaining: 0 5. Attending town residents voted on Resolution 2024-05: Resolution by Town Electors to adopt the total town tax levy in the amount of $170,721, for a dollar increase of $46,044 over the allowable 2024 town tax levy. Resolution No. 2024-05: Number of town electors voting Aye: 14 Number of town electors voting Nay: 8 Number of town electors abstaining: 0 6. The 2025 Road Budget of $172,000.00 (identical to 2024) was voted on by attending town residents: Number of town electors voting Aye: 22 Number of town electors voting Nay: 0 Number of town electors abstaining: 0 Motion carried. 7. Supervisor Raddatz moved to strike agenda item 4 (existing Town Hall), seconded by Supervisor Reser . Motion passed. 8. Supervisor Reser moved to adjourn the Public Hearing and Special Meeting of Town Electors, seconded by Supervisor Raddatz. Motion carried. The 2024 Special Meeting of Electors was adjourned at 8:00 pm.
