MINUTES OF THE OWN OF BARABOO PLAN COMMISSION MEETING The Town of Baraboo Plan Commission held a meeting on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 6:20 PM at the Baraboo Town Hall, located at 101 Cedar Street, Baraboo, WI 53913. AGENDA 1. Steve Hess called the meeting to order at 6:20 PM and verified compliance with Wisconsin’s open meeting laws. Agendas were posted on Thursday February 26, 2026 in three town posting boxes 2. Plan commission members Steve Hess, Randy Puttkamer, and Pat Sprecher were present. Members Lea Ann Gieck and Al Stanec were absent 3. Motion to adopt the agenda for this meeting made by Randy Puttkamer, seconded by Pat Sprecher. The motion passed unanimously. 4. Motion to adopt the minutes of the February 5, 2026 meeting made by Randy Puttkamer, seconded by Pat Sprecher. The motion passed unanimously. 5. No Citizens’ appearance to speak on non-agenda topics. 6. Motion made by Randy Randy Puttkamer to move to the town board for approval a special exception permit pursuant to authorize A tourist rooming house/short term rental Steve Sinnot and Heather Sveom at S5815 South Shore Road Baraboo Wisconsin tax parcel 002-1301-00000. The property will be operated as “Devil’s Lake Getaway” and is a single family Home located in the Sanitary sewer district. Seconded by Pat Sprecher. The motion passed unanimously. 7. Discussion with Cassandra Fowler from Sauk County on the Community Survey for the Town of Baraboo Comprehensive Plan. Cassandra will prepare surveys by updating previous town comprehensive survey. She will prepare an online/printed survey and postcards for residents. The Town Board must decide on mailing/printing options. Will try to make it available by the next election in April. Cassandra will email to plan commission for review when she has a draft of the survey ready 8. Motion made by Randy Randy Puttkamer to set Comprehensive Plan Committee meetings to run on the same dates as plan commission meetings (1st monday of each month) at 6:45 PM. Seconded by Pat Sprecher. The motion passed unanimously. 9. Plan commission reviewed tourist rooming house permits on file with the town to prepare for annual renewal process. Plan commission went through the VRBO files and verified the following are current with county permits.Files are now correlated with parcel numbers, with each parcel in its own file (some had been combined/mixed years back) The file has a list of emails so town can email out a reminder to owners along with a renewal form for this year. 10. Randy Puttkamer reported that Devils lake was reporting issues with freezing in sewer system 11. Set the dates for the next meetings. April 6th, 2026 and May 4th, 2026 12. Motion made by Randy Randy Puttkamer to Adjourn.. Seconded by Pat Sprecher. The motion passed unanimously.
