MINUTES TOWN OF BARABOO PLAN COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES OF THE TOWN OF BARABOO PLAN COMMISSION MEETING The Town of Baraboo Plan Commission held a meeting on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 6:15 PM at the Baraboo Town Hall, located at 101 Cedar Street, Baraboo, WI 53913. AGENDA 1. Steve Hess called the meeting to order and verified compliance with Wisconsin’s open meeting laws. Agendas were posted at three Town posting boxes on January 29, 2026 2. Plan commission members Steve Hess, Randy Puttkamer, Lea Ann Gieck a ttended and were introduced. Commission members Al Stanek and Pat Sprecher were absent. Town clerk and other town officers did not attend 3. Motion made by Randy Puttkamer to adopt the posted agenda for this meeting. Motion seconded by Lea Ann Gieck. Motion passed unanimously 4. Motion made by Randy Puttkamer to adopt the minutes of the January 5, 2026 meeting. Motion seconded by Lea Ann Gieck. Motion passed unanimously 5. No Citizens appeared to speak on non-agenda topics. 6. Motion made by Randy Puttkamer to move forward to the town board for approval of a Certified Survey for Jerzy and Anna Maj on tax parcel 002-1387-00000 and 002-1386-00000. Motion seconded by Lea Ann Gieck. Discussion These are two empty lots north of property owners lot at S4169 Whispering Pines Drive, Baraboo, WI. Owners with to combine two lots of 1.14 and 1.02 acres into a single 2.16 Acre building site. Motion passed unanimously 7. Motion made by Randy Puttkamer to move forward to the town board for approval of a rezone application by Brad Wissmueller a portion of tax parcel 002-0318-10000 from Agricultural to Rec-Commercial. Motion seconded by Lea Ann Gieck. Discussion: New parcel is approved but has not been assigned a new tax parcel number yet. Parcel is located at E11540 State Road 136 Baraboo WI, 53913. Parcel is 3.92 acres operating as Little Society Farm LLC. CSM 7686 document number 1285342. Motion passed unanimously 8. Motion made by Randy Puttkamer to move forward to the town board for approval renewal of a Special Exception to authorize the continued operation of a non-metallic mining site, one acre or greater and a Non-Metallic Mining Reclamation Permit. Motion seconded by Lea Ann Gieck. Discussion:The nonmetallic mining operation is located on tax parcels 002-0682-00000, 002-0683-00000, and 002-0685-00000, Town of Baraboo, Sauk County, WI. The property is at the northern boundary of the township on Fox Hill Road and is owned by Mathy Construction Company. Permit is for identical conditions and hours as the previous permit. Motion passed unanimously 9. Motion made by Randy Puttkamer to move forward to the town board for approval resolutions for town board to approve concerning Citizen input on comprehensive plan update. Motion seconded by Lea Ann Gieck. Discussion: Resolution templates were provided by Sauk county and are recommended to be adopted prior to Comprehensive plan update. Resolutions have been sent to the town clerk to be discussed/approved at the next town board meeting. Motion passed unanimously 10. Due to the amazing work of our deputy Clerk Barb Terry in filing and organizing plan commission paperwork, the plan commission did not have any old paperwork to go through. Thank you so much Barb! You have the thanks and appreciation of the Plan commission for all your hard work! MINUTES TOWN OF BARABOO PLAN COMMISSION MEETING 11. Communication around Pit on Gierks Road, several phone calls fielded by plan commission members. Most communication was around Special exception permit requirements. Questions were asked about website updates and when survey to residents will be sent out 12. Dates for next meetings set to March 2, 2026 and april 6 2026 13. Motion to Adjourn made at 7:15 PM by Lea Ann Gieck. Seconded by Randy Puttkamer. Meeting adjourned at 7:15 PM A quorum of the Baraboo Town Board did not attend this meeting.
