FINANCE & PERSONNEL COMMITTEE March 24 , 202 6 6: 1 5 pm PRESENT : Chairperson Rusniak, Members Savage, Webb , and Garza. ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Steve Volker t and Fire Chief Tony Burgard Call to Order – Chairperson Rusniak called the meeting to order at 6: 1 5 p.m. in the Common Council Chambers of Hartford City Hall, 109 North Main Street. Public Comment Period – None. Discussion and consideration of hiring two additional full-time employees in Fire EMS in 2027, pending funding availability and budget approval . – Fire Chief Tony Burgard stated currently the Fire Department has 11 full time employees, 3 of which are Administrative and 8 employees are on a rotating 24-hour shift. At least one additional employee is needed to ensure per ambulance has three employees in the vehicle for emergency calls. Currently the Fire Department is seeing a 20% increase in call volume. MOTION by Alderperson Garza , seconded by Alderperson Webb to the hiring of two additional full-time employees in Fire EMS in 2027, pending funding availability and budget approval. Adjournment – MOTION by Alderperson Webb , seconded by Alderperson Garza for adjournment at 6: 30 p.m. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
