Public Hearing – Regarding the financing of the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital Project
and the issuance of private activity bonds to finance health care facilities
A public hearing was held regarding the financing of the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital
Project and the issuance of private activity bonds to finance health care facilities.
Tucker Plumstead – National Health Care Capital LLC, addressed those in attendance regarding
the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital obtaining tax exempt bank qualified financing with
Johnson Bank for the costs associated with the construction, improving, renovating, furnishing
and equipping a new approximately 28,419 square foot medical clinic to be attached to the
western corner of the existing medical facility on the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital Campus,
11040 N State Road 77. The City will simultaneously buy and sell approximately 3.2 million
dollars in tax exempt bonds. Mr. Plumstead stated that the City will bear no liability nor will the
City be responsible for making any loan payments. Mr. Plumstead also stated that the closing is
scheduled to take place during the week after Labor Day. Mr. Plumstead, per Frank Zufall’s
request, also explained why the hospital could not obtain tax exempt financing on its own. No
action taken.
