PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES REGULAR MEETING JUNE 16, 2026 1. Call to Order A regular meeting of the Public Safety Committee was held in room 101A at the Justice Center. Present Supervisor Jeffrey Hansher, Supervisor Derek DeMent, Supervisor Connie Kincaide, Supervisor Tim Maguire Absent None Excused Supervisor Rick Nelson Staff present: County Administrator Dzwinel, Human Resources Director McDonell (8:21 AM), Victim Witness Coordinator Haasch, Clerk of Circuit Court Mueller, Sheriff Knowles, Undersheriff Hermann, Medical Examiner Luecke, Deputy County Clerk Hoff. Others present: Dan Benson - Ozaukee Press 2. Proper Notice Vice-Chairperson Hansher called the meeting to order at 8:15 AM. The clerk noticed the meeting as required. 3. Public Comments, Correspondence, Communications There were none. 4. Approval of Minutes May 19, 2026 Motion: Motion to approve May 19, 2026 minutes as submitted. Management/Financial/Informational Reports Update on staffing and autopsies. 6. District Attorney a. Action Items 1. Resolution to Amend Chapter 3 of the Ozaukee County Policy and Procedure Manual – Victim Witness Specialist Discussion regarding the open role in the Victim Witness division. Motion: Motion to approve the resolution to amend Chapter 3 of the Ozaukee County Policy and Procedure Manual to increase the Victim Witness Specialist position from 0.5 FTE to 1.0 FTE. This resolution will move forward to the Finance Committee for further action. Sheriff's Department a. Management/Financial/Informational Reports Update on staffing and overtime. New outer vest protection for the officers has been implemented. Traffic control for the Data Center is being managed with help from the state patrol. 9. Next Meeting Date July 21, 2026 10.
