1. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by Chairperson Drexler. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
2. Currently, there is no Deputy Treasurer. This position must be appointed by Treasurer Stroik prior to her
impending resignation on October 14, for the purpose of learning the Treasurer’s duties over the remainder of her
term. Ideally, the Deputy Treasurer position will be filled by the same person the Board will appoint to fill the
Treasurer vacancy in the next agenda item. To be fair to the candidate, the Board must set a wage for the Deputy
Treasurer position prior to that person accepting the appointment by Treasurer Stroik.
Motion by Chairperson Drexler to set the Deputy Treasurer wage at $20 per hour.
Seconded by Supervisor Erickson.
3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried.
3. Treasurer Stroik is resigning from her position effective October 14, 2026, so the Board must now appoint a
Town of Eau Pleine resident to fill the Town Treasurer vacancy, from October 14, 2026 to April 19, 2027. Three
candidates were in attendance: Jeff Stashek, Carrie Drexler, and Wendi Erickson. The Board asked the candidates
for their qualifications, which were taken into consideration. Carrie Drexler withdrew her candidacy after
Supervisor Trelka raised concern with the impartiality of two signatures on the Town-issued checks being husband
and wife. Supervisor Erickson and Chairperson Drexler stated that they were voting in favor of Wendi Erickson
with her 45 years of professional tax accounting and auditing experience, and Supervisor Trelka stated that he was
voting in favor of Jeff Stashek with his corporate experience.
Motion by Chairperson Drexler to appoint Wendi Erickson to fill the Treasurer vacancy from October 14,
2026 to April 19, 2027. Seconded by Supervisor Trelka.
3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried.
4. Greg Brummund requested a two-week extension on his corn stand, which he was originally granted permission
to operate on town property by Chairperson Drexler in July 2026. At the August 12, 2026 Town Board meeting, the
Board agreed to allow the corn stand to continue to operate on town property until August 31, 2026. Supervisor
Erickson requested that the originally agreed upon termination date of August 31, 2026 be maintained in order for
the Board to adequately discuss at a future meeting the possibility of a town farmers market next summer.
Chairperson Drexler had received no complaints about the corn stand.
Motion by Chairperson Drexler to allow Greg Brummund an extension on operating his corn stand on town
property until September 20, 2026. Seconded by Supervisor Trelka.
2 ayes (Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 1 nay (Supervisor Erickson). Motion carried.
5. After hearing questions and concerns from the public –
Motion by Chairperson Drexler to adjourn. Seconded by Supervisor Trelka.
3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried.
Respectfully submitted by: Stacy Martin, Town of Eau Pleine Clerk
