DRAFT MINUTES TOWN OF PLOVER PUBLIC HEARING – TOWN OF PLOVER PROPOSED 2025 BUDGET TOWN HALL – 5081 HOOVER AVENUE SOUTH NOVEMBER 20, 2024 Chairman Garbe called the public hearing to order at 6:01 PM. Also present were Supervisors Bentley, Firkus, Pingel, and Rossier; Clerk/Treasurer Weller; Superintendent of Highways William Honaker; residents Priscilla Garbe, Debra Sniadajewski, and William Sniadajewski; and Richard Rashke of Okray Produce Company. The public hearing and special town meeting notice was posted on all posting boards and the town website. The proposed 2025 budget of $1,336,918.68 represents a 4.24% decrease from the 2024 budget. The proposed 2025 budget is based on a 2024 property tax levy of $420,784.00; the 2024 town tax rate of $0.001530 represents a 26.60% decrease from the 2023 town tax rate. Chairman Garbe provided an overview of highlights of the 2025 budget and mentioned notable differences from the 2024 budget; meeting attendees asked questions and offered input. Chairman Garbe closed the public hearing at 6:12 PM. CALL TO ORDER: Immediately following the public hearing, Chairman Garbe called the special town meeting to order at 6:12 PM. Also present were Supervisors Bentley, Firkus, Pingel, and Rossier; Clerk/Treasurer Weller; Superintendent of Highways William Honaker; residents Priscilla Garbe, Debra Sniadajewski, and William Sniadajewski; and Richard Rashke of Okray Produce Company. 2. APPROVAL OF 2024 TOWN TAX LEVY TO BE COLLECTED IN 2025, PURSUANT TO WISCONSIN STATUTES § 60.10(1)(a): Resident Debra Sniadajewski made the motion to approve the proposed 2024 property tax levy of $420,784.00. Resident Priscilla Garbe seconded the motion, the question was called, and the motion carried with a hand vote of ten residents in favor, zero residents opposed, and one abstention. 3. ADJOURNMENT: Resident William Sniadajewski made the motion to adjourn the special town meeting at 6:15 PM. Resident Debra Sniadajewski seconded the motion, the question was called, and the motion carried with a voice vote of ten residents in favor, zero residents opposed, and one abstention.
