TITLE: Town of Berry Plan Commission Meeting Minutes DATE: July 6, 2026 TIME: 7:00 – 9:26 p.m. PLACE: Town Hall, 9046 State Road 19, Mazomanie, WI 53560 POSTINGS: Town Hall and Town of Berry website I. CALL TO ORDER. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present: Duane Haag, David Evert, Joe Kruchten, Chris Schwoerer and Travis Richards. II. CONFIRMATION OF COMPLIANCE WITH OPEN MEETING LAW The Clerk confirmed that the agenda was posted at the town hall and on the website. III. APPROVE MINUTES OF JUNE 1, 2026 Motion Kruchten/Schwoerer to approve the June 1, 2026 minutes. Motion carried. Vote 5-0 IV. PUBLIC COMMENTS: You may address the Commission on any item not on the agenda. A discussion item may be placed on a future agenda. Public comment may be heard on any agenda either now, or at the time the agenda items is to be discussed, or at the discretion of the Chair at the time the agenda item is discussed. V. PUBLIC HEARING, FOLLOWED BY DISCUSSION/ACTION RE: A. (R-2026-5) Whippoorwill, Randall Laufenberg, 7914 State Highway 19, rezone 0.80 acres from B-1 to COM Public hearing opened at 7:01 pm. No comments. Public hearing closed at 7:02 pm. Motion Kruchten/Evert to recommend approval of the Whippoorwill, Randall Laufenberg’s, rezone of 0.80 acres from B-1 to COM. Motion carried. Vote 5-0 B. (CUP-2026-3) Whippoorwill, Randall Laufenberg, 7914 State Highway 19, conditional use permit for an eating establishment with alcohol, liquor, or malt beverages and service establishment that operates outdoors Public hearing opened at 7:01 pm. No comments. Public hearing closed at 7:02 pm. Motion Kruchten/Richards to recommend approval of the Whippoorwill, Randall Laufenberg’s, conditional use permit for an eating establishment with alcohol, liquor, or malt beverages and service establishment that operates outdoors. Motion carried. Vote 5-0 VI. DISCUSSION/ACTION RE: A. (D-2026-2) Kurt Meier, Far View Road, driveway permit application Motion Kruchten/Schwoerer to recommend approval of Kurt Meier’s driveway permit application. Motion carried. Vote 5-0 B. (D-2026-2) William Kluender, County Highway KP, driveway permit application Motion Kruchten/Evert to recommend approval of William Kluender’s driveway permit application. Motion carried. Vote 5-0 C. (D-2024-8) Carl & Donna Ketelboeter, 6176 County Highway KP, final driveway approval Motion Evert/Kruchten to recommend approval of Carl & Donna Ketelboeter’s final driveway. Motion carried. Vote 5-0 VII. DISCUSSION/ACTION RE: COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE – CHAPTER 4 – LAND USE AND DEFINITIONS Caitlin Shanahan presented revisions to Chapter 4 – Land Use, Appendix A – Definitions, Appendix C – Development Standards and Review Process and Appendix E – Transfer of Development Rights Program.
