TITLE: Town of Berry Plan Commission Meeting Minutes DATE: June 1, 2026 TIME: 7:00 – 8:20 p.m. PLACE: Town Hall, 9046 State Road 19, Mazomanie, WI 53560 POSTINGS: Town Hall and Town of Berry website I. CALL TO ORDER. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. Members present: Duane Haag, Joe Kruchten, Chris Schwoerer and Travis Richards. David Evert was absent. II. CONFIRMATION OF COMPLIANCE WITH OPEN MEETING LAW The Clerk confirmed that the agenda was posted at the town hall and on the website. III. APPROVE MINUTES OF MAY 4, 2026 Motion Schwoerer/Richards to approve the May 4, 2026 minutes. Motion carried. Vote 4-0 IV. PUBLIC COMMENTS: You may address the Commission on any item not on the agenda. A discussion item may be placed on a future agenda. Public comment may be heard on any agenda either now, or at the time the agenda items is to be discussed, or at the discretion of the Chair at the time the agenda item is discussed. V. PUBLIC HEARING, FOLLOWED BY DISCUSSION/ACTION RE: A. (R-2026-4) William Kluender, County Highway KP, rezone 1.17 acres from COM to SFR Public hearing opened at 7:00 pm. No comments. Public hearing closed at 7:01 pm. Motion Kruchten/Richards to recommend approval of William Kluender’s rezone of 1.17 acres from COM to SFR. Motion carried. Vote 4-0 VI. DISCUSSION/RECOMMENDATION TO THE BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS RE: A. (V-2026-2) Whippoorwill, Randall Laufenberg, 7914 State Highway 19, variance application No action taken. A zoning change from the legacy zoning to town zoning is required VII. DISCUSSION/ACTION RE: A. (D-2026-2) Kurt Meier, Far View Road, driveway permit application Motion Kruchten/Richards to postpone. Motion carried. Vote 4-0 VIII. DISCUSSION RE: PROPOSED LAND DIVISION BY BLACK EARTH VALLEY FARMS LLC Discussed the 66 foot easements for the five lots and shared driveway location. IX. DISCUSSION/ACTION RE: COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE – CHAPTER 3 – AGRICULTURAL, NATURAL AND CULTURAL RESOURCES AND CHAPTER 10 – INTERGOVERNMENTAL COOPERATION Caitlin Shanahan presented minutes from the meeting with the Village of Cross Plains and revisions to Chapter 3 – Agricultural, Natural and Cultural Resources and Chapter 10 – Intergovernmental Cooperation of the Comprehensive Plan. Next month the commission will be working on Chapter 4 – Land Use and definitions. X. ADJOURN Motion Schwoerer/Richards to adjourn until the next regular meeting or the call of the Chair. Motion carried. Vote 4-0
