Town of Taft Minutes to Monthly Meeting Mar. 10, 2026 The Mar. meeting of the Town Board was called to order at 7:13pm. All the members were present. Verification of Postings: Website, Town Hall, Otter Lake Bait Mar. 9, 2026 There was a motion from Jerry Czubakowski, 2nd by Del Kroeplin to approve and pay all current bills to include invoice from SEH for Skyline Dr. ARIP grant project. Approval was given by voice roll call: Del yes, Jerry yes, Darrell yes, Motion carried. There was a motion from Del Kroeplin, 2nd by Jerry Czubakowski, to approve the minutes of the Jan. 2026 monthly meeting notes. Approval was given by voice roll call: Del yes, Jerry yes, Darrell yes, Motion carried. There was a motion from Jerry Czubakowski, 2nd by Del Kroeplin to approve the treasures report for the month of Feb. Approval was given by voice roll call: Del yes, Jerry yes, Darrell yes, Motion carried. Driveway/Culvert Permit. Nothing at this time There was a motion from Del Kroeplin, 2nd by Jerry Czubakowski, to approve allowing our treasurer to sign papers allowing ACH Payments from Taylor County to our bank as Electronic Funds Transfers as requested from Taylor County. Approval was given by voice roll call: Del yes, Jerry yes, Darrell yes, Motion carried. There was a motion from Jerry Czubakowski, 2nd by Del Kroeplin to approve amending our overtime pay for substitute grander operator by striking line 5 of the policy. This would allow the substitute grader to receive overtime pay should the occurrence ever arise. Approval was given by voice roll call: Del yes, Jerry yes, Darrell yes, Motion carried There was discussion regarding the altering of a right-a-way on Meridian Drive it was decided that we should go and measure the distance which was agreed upon by Town Board and Elector. Jerry and Del will do it. There was a motion by Del Kroeplin, 2nd by Jerry Czubakowski to approve the transportation resolution that was given at the last Wisconsin Towns Association District Conference. Approval was given by voice roll call: Del yes, Jerry yes, Darrell yes, Motion carried. Road Maintenance: LSSIP 6’-20’ culverts. There was a motion by Jerry Czubakowski, 2nd by Del Kroeplin to approve hiring SEH to complete the grant application for replacement of the culvert on Pinewood which has been rated a 2, to be replaced with the help of a grant by the state. Darrell will contact Ron Chamberlain. Weight limit signs have been posted. Misc. Nothing at this time ARIP Update: Culverts and other blacktopping issues are all done in the year of blacktopping which per the plan will be 2027. There will be one Contractor chosen, they will subcontract all other area of the job. Even though it appears that things are not progressing many things are being done in preparation for the final blacktopping part. There is still much to be done in preparation. Reminder that the Annual Meeting will be April 25th at 8pm. Roads: Taylor County fixed the potholes on County Line. Roads seem to be getting better after the ice storm. Recycling: Nothing new General Operations: Darrell will order porta potty for elections Set Tentative Date for the next meeting April 14, 2026, 7pm Elections will be on April 7th.
