Town of Taft Minutes to Monthly Meeting Apr.22, 2025 Condolences to theSromek Family for the death of Rose Sromek. The Apr. meeting of the Town Board was called to order at 7:15pm.Allthe members were present. Verification of Postings:Town Hall,Otter Lake Bait, Foxx DenApr. 21, 2025 There was a motion fromJerry Czubakowski,2ndbyDel Kroeplinto approve and pay all current bills. Approval was given by voice roll call: Delyes, Jerry yes, Darrell yes,Motion carried. The was a motion from Del Kroeplin,2 nd by Jerry Czubakowski to approve the minutes of theMar. 2025 monthly meeting. Approval was given by voice roll call: Del yes, Jerry yes, Darrell yes, Motion carried. There was a motion byDel Kroeplin, 2nd byJerry Czubakowski,to approve the Treasurer’s Report.Approval was given by voice roll call: Del yes, Jerry yes, Darrell yes, Motion carried. Driveway/CulvertPermit. Nothing at this time. There was a motion by Del Kroeplin, 2 nd by Jerry Czubakowski to accept the donation checks from Larry & Bev. Romanowski, Crystal Romanowski and Bill Rice towards the Skyline Pavement Grant .Approval was given by voice roll call: Del yes, Jerry yes, Darrell yes, Motion carried. There was a motion by Jerry Czubakowski, 2 nd by Del Kroeplin to establish a CD in the amount of $6000 at Superior Bank in Gilman in the name of Skyline Project. Approval was given by voice roll call: Del yes, Jerry yes, Darrell yes, Motion carried. Road Maintenance A. There was a motion by Del Kroeplin, 2 nd by Jerry Czubakowski to have Taylor County Hwy put Calcium Chloride on Meridian Drive. Approval was given by voice roll call: Del yes, Jerry yes, Darrell yes, Motion carried. B. There was a motion by Del Kroeplin, 2 nd by Jerry Czubakowski to allow Lana Knox to explore the idea of putting Calcium Chloride on private gravel roads in the township. She will take care of all the details. Approval was given by voice roll call: Del yes, Jerry yes, Darrell yes, Motion carried. C. Chip Seal Estimates were tabled. D. Crack Filling Estimates were tabled. E. Spray Patching. There was a motion by Jerry Czubakowski, 2 nd by Del Kroeplin to contract Taylor County Hwy to spray patch Meridian from Hwy F to Hwy S (3 miles) Approval was given by voice roll call: Del yes, Jerry yes, Darrell yes, Motion carried. Spray Patching Pinewood was tabled. F. Culvert Replacement on Pinewood was tabled until Jerry and Del can check it out. G. Gravel, Granite There was a motion by Jerry Czubakowski, 2 nd by Del Kroeplin to approve purchasing brown gravel and blue granite in the amounts kept below $25,000. Approval was given by voice roll call: Del yes, Jerry yes, Darrell yes, Motion carried. H. There was a motion by Jerry Czubakowski, 2nd by Del Kroeplin to purchase blue granite for the Town Hall parking lot which is in great need of upgrading. Approval was given by voice roll call: Del yes, Jerry yes, Darrell yes, Motion carried. I. There was a motion by Del Kroeplin, 2 nd by Jerry Czubakowski to approve getting the plow truck washed by Luke Rindt. Approval was given by voice roll call: Del yes, Jerry yes, Darrell yes, Motion carried. The Board of Review Ordinances and Policies were all good. Designate extra alternate for Board of Review was tabled After discussion, there was a motion by Del Kroeplin, 2nd by Jerry Czubakowski to approve hiring Town Web as our website carrier for a one-time fee of $2020 for first year and $1020 for each of the next 3 years contract. Approval was given by voice roll call: Del yes, Jerry yes, Darrell yes, Motion carried. Town Web are approved by WTA and are highly recommended by other townships who use them. Lori will begin the process as soon as the invoice is paid. Discussion on Roads: Coming out of winter the roads seem to of did well. *Discussion on Recycling: Good Appliance Collection in Gilman May 3 rd. *Discussion on General Operations:Set Tentative Date for the next meetingMay13, 2025, 7pm Special Meeting May 7 @ 7pm for discussion of financing Skyline Project as well as some other issues.
