Town of Iola Iola, Wisconsin www.townofiola.com Bruce Faldet, Supervisor Mark Sprangers, Chairman Steve Madson, Clerk Josh Franchuk, Supervisor Denis Walter, Treasurer Regular Meeting – October 28, 2024 Chairman Sprangers called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm Board Members Present – Mark Sprangers, Josh Franchuk, Denis Walter and Steve Madson. Absent – Bruce Faldet. Also present – Dick Lashua Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to approve the agenda for the meeting. Chairman Sprangers seconded the motion and it carried. Chairman Sprangers made a motion to approve the minutes from the September monthly meeting. Supervisor Franchuk seconded the motion and it carried. Public Comments: Dick Lashua was present and complimented the board on the tree trimming on the right aways that was being done. Lashua also asked if any spraying would be done. Chairman Sprangers said that it is something that we are looking into. Old Business: Roads/Tree Trimming/Snow Plowing – no new updates. New Business: a. Accessor Contract – Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to approve the Accessor contract. The contract is for the next three years (January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2027. Chairman Sprangers seconded the motion. The accessor also made the board aware that they may need to look at a market adjustment in either 2025 or 2026. Motion by Supervisor Franchuk to have the market adjustment in 2026, Chairman Sprangers seconded the motion and it carried. b. November meeting – Chairman Sprangers made a motion to move the November meeting to Monday, November 18 th due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Supervisor Franchuk seconded the motion and it carried. c. Levy/Budget hearing – Motion by Chairman Sprangers to have the Levy/Budget hearing at the November meeting. Motion seconded by Supervisor Franchuk and the motion carried. Clerk Madson informed board of Land Use Permit for David Wright for a shed. Shoreland Permits for Kirk and Kristine Schutte for a dwelling addition; Sean Higgins & Lydia Davis Higgins Accessory Structure; Daniel & Linda Heuer addition to accessory structure. Building Permits – Robert Diedrich new construction; Daniel Heuer shed addition; Kirk Schutte deck; Alan Pichotta alterations; and David Wright shed. Cutting Notices – Iola Winter Sports Club. Approval of the town books was done by Chairman Sprangers and Supervisor Franchuk. Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to pay the monthly bills. Chairman Sprangers seconded the motion and it carried.
