Town of Iola Iola, Wisconsin Bruce Faldet, Supervisor Mark Sprangers, Chairman Steve Madson, Clerk Josh Franchuk, Supervisor Denis Walter, Treasurer Budget Hearing A public hearing to consider the 2024 Town of Iola budget was held November 27, 2023. The hearing was called to order at 6:00 by Chairman Sprangers. In attendance were – Mark Sprangers, Bruce Faldet, Denis Walter and Steve Madson. Absent – Supervisor Franchuk. Clerk Madson distributed copies of the budget. The proposed budget has a $1,047 increase to the 2023 Tax Levy. The proposed budget calls for a balanced budget of revenues and expenses. There were no comments on the budget presented. Adjourned at 6:05pm. Special Meeting A special meeting of the Iola Township was held on November 27, 2023. The meeting was called to order at 6:05 pm by Chairman Sprangers. In attendance were Mark Sprangers, Bruce Faldet, Denis Walter and Steve Madson. Absent – Supervisor Franchuk. Supervisor Faldet made a motion to increase the 2023 Tax Levy by $1,047 to $190,984. Chairman Sprangers seconded the motion and it carried. There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:10 pm Regular Meeting – November 27, 2023 Chairman Sprangers called the meeting to order at 6:10pm Board Members present were: Mark Sprangers, Bruce Faldet, Denis Walter and Steve Madson. Absent – Josh Franchuk. Also attending Gary Marx. Supervisor Faldet made a motion to approve the agenda for the meeting. Chairman Sprangers seconded the motion and it carried. Chairman Sprangers made a motion to approve the minutes from the October Meeting. Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion at it carried. Public Comments: Town of Scandinavia Chairman Gary Marx was in attendance to discuss the Conditional Use Permit that the town did for Dee-O-Gee dog care. The Town of Scandinavia has someone interested in starting a dog breeding facility. Old Business – Roads/Bridges – discussed possible road and bridge projects for 2024. New Business – 1. 2024 Budget – After a brief discussion Chairman Sprangers made a motion to approve the 2024 budget as presented. Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion and it carried. 2. December Meeting – Supervisor Faldet made a motion to move the December meeting to Monday December 18th, 2023 due to the holidays. Chairman Sprangers seconded the motion and it carried. 3. Election Workers – Clerk Madson provided a list of poll workers for 2024. List is attached. Chairman Sprangers made a motion to approve the list. Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion and it carried. Clerk Madson informed the Board of a building permit for Hugh McAloon for a residence. Audit of the town books was done by Supervisor Faldet and Chairman Sprangers. Supervisor Faldet made a motion to pay the monthly bills. Chairman Sprangers seconded the motion and it carried. There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
