Town of Iola Iola, Wisconsin www.townofiola.com Bruce Faldet, Supervisor Mark Sprangers, Chairman Steve Madson,Clerk Josh Franchuk, Supervisor Denis Walter, Treasurer Regular Meeting – August 28, 2023 Chairman Sprangers called the meeting to order at 6:00pm Board Members Present – Mark Sprangers, Bruce Faldet, Josh Franchuk, Denis Walter and Steve Madson. Also present – John Burleson and Chad Bestul Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to approve the agenda for the meeting. Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion and it carried. Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to approve the minutes from the July meeting. Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion and it carried. Public Comments: John Burleson from the Iola Recycling Center gave an update on the center. Burleson gave an update on the hours, costs and operators. Old Business: Roads/ Bridges – Supervisor Faldet gave an update on the tractor rental agreement with Riesterer & Schnell. Riesterer will give us a better rate if we agree to a two-year agreement. Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to approve the agreement, Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion and it carried. New Business: 1. Snowplowing – Chad Bestul attended the meeting to discuss plowing for the 2023/2024 season. Options for trucks and costs were discussed. It was agreed to table snowplowing until the September meeting. Clerk Madson informed the board of a Shoreland permit for Christine Ross for an addition to an existing shed. Clerk Madson informed the board of an increase in Shared Revenue starting in 2024. Also, population of the township is 934 down 4 from 2022. Lastly, going forward the County will be charging to collect taxes. Approval of the town books was done by Supervisor Faldet and Supervisor Franchuk. Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to pay the monthly bills. Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion and it carried. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
