Town of Iola Iola, Wisconsin www.townofiola.com Bruce Faldet, Supervisor Mark Sprangers, Chairman Steve Madson,Clerk Josh Franchuk, Supervisor Denis Walter, Treasurer Public Hearing June 26, 2023 Chairman Sprangers called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Board members present – Mark Sprangers, Bruce Faldet, Josh Franchuk, Steve Madson and Denis Walter. The DNR has been working with Scott Amundson to exchange a piece of property that is currently used to access additional DNR Land for an access easement. As part of the exchange the intention is for the adjacent property to combine the purchased piece of property with the rest of their land. In order to make the combination happen both parcels need to zoned the same. To facilitate the combination of the property the preferred land use designation in the Comprehensive Plan needs to be amended from Forestry to Agriculture and zoning of the property needs to be amended from PURF to Agriculture and Woodland Transition. After a brief discussion Chairman Sprangers made a motion to adjourn the Public Hearing. Regular Meeting Chairman Sprangers called the meeting to order at 6:10pm Board Members Present – Mark Sprangers, Bruce Faldet, Josh Franchuk, Denis Walter and Steve Madson. Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to approve the agenda for the meeting. Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion and it carried. Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to approve the Plan Commision minutes from the May meeting. Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion and it carried. Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to approve the minutes from the regular May meeting. Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion and it carried. Public Comments: None Old Business: Roads/ Bridges – Scott Construction has finished with the highway improvements for 2023. Supervisor Faldet informed the board that Bestul Excavating will plow the roads for the 2023/2024 season. The board will try to recruit back up plow drivers. New Business: 1. Department of Natural Resources/Scott Amundson Zone Map Amendment. Ordinance – Supervisor Franchuk made a motion for the Town Board to adopt an amendment to change the land use designation from Forestry to Agriculture on the future land use map. Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion and it carried. Town Recommendation for the Comprehension Plan – Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to amend the preferred land designation for the parcel from Forestry to Agriculture. Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion and it carried. Town Recommendation for a Zone Map Amendment – Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to amend the zoning of the property from Forestry to Agriculture. Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion and it carried. Clerk Madson informed the board of a land use permit and building permit for Michael and Gidget Blank for a shed. Land use permit for James Cook and Samantha Jones for a honey extracting facility. Shoreland Permits for Christine Cook for a storage structure. Lexi VanLannen for a grilling shelter and to move a shed. Approval of the town books was done by Supervisor Faldet and Supervisor Franchuk. Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to pay the monthly bills.
