Town of Iola Iola, Wisconsin Bruce Faldet, Supervisor Mark Sprangers, Chairman Steve Madson, Clerk Josh Franchuk, Supervisor Denis Walter, Treasurer Budget Hearing A public hearing to consider the 2023 Town of Iola budget was held November 28, 2022. The hearing was called to order at 6:00 by Chairman Sprangers. In attendance were – Mark Sprangers, Bruce Faldet, Josh Franchuk, Denis Walter and Steve Madson. Clerk Madson distributed copies of the budget. The proposed budget has a $1,499 increase to the 2022 Tax Levy. The proposed budget calls for a balanced budget of revenues and expenses. There were no comments on the budget presented. Adjourned at 6:05pm. Special Meeting A special meeting of the Iola Township was held on November 28, 2022. The meeting was called to order at 6:05 pm by Chairman Sprangers. In attendance were Mark Sprangers, Bruce Faldet, Josh Franchuk, Denis Walter and Steve Madson. Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to increase the 2022 Tax Levy by $1,499 to $189,937. Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion and it carried. There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:10 pm Regular Meeting – November 28, 2022 Chairman Sprangers called the meeting to order at 6:10pm Board Members present were: Mark Sprangers, Bruce Faldet, Josh Franchuk, Denis Walter and Steve Madson. Also attending Chad Bestul. Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to approve the agenda for the meeting. Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion and it carried. Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to approve the minutes from the October Meeting. Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion at it carried. Public Comments: Town of Scandinavia sent a letter about the possible mine on the Iola Car Show Grounds. The meeting is December 14th @ 5:00pm at the Town of Scandinavia town hall. Old Business – Roads/Bridges – Chad Bestul attended the meeting to discuss plowing for 2022/2023. Bestul informed the board of cost increases for fuel, hourly wages to pay drivers and also plow blades. Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to approve the increases, Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion at it carried New Business – 1. 2023 Budget – The board approved pay increases for mowing personnel and also election poll workers. Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to approve the 2023 budget as presented. Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion and it carried. 2. December Meeting – Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to move the December meeting to Monday December 19th, 2022 due to the holidays. Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion and it carried. 3. Election Workers – Clerk Madson provided a list of poll workers for 2023. List is attached. Supervisor Faldet made a motion to approve the list. Supervisor Franchuk seconded the motion and it carried. The board set January 3rd, 2023 for the Caucus for the April ’23 election. Clerk Madson informed the Board of a shoreland and building permit for Dale & Janine Daczyk for a shed. A building permit for Scott Siegel for a shed and a land use permit for Jason & Diana Free for an accessory structure/sauna. Audit of the town books was done by Supervisor Faldet and Supervisor Franchuk. Supervisor Franchuk made a motion to pay the monthly bills. Supervisor Faldet seconded the motion and it carried.
