Agenda prepared by Dave Inserra, WFD Secretary posted 3/9/2026 Erin Newton, Town Clerk for Winchester WINCHESTER FIRE & RESCUE AGENDA Date: 3/10/26 CALL TO ORDER PLEDE OF ALLIGIANCE APPROVAL OF MINUTES TREASUER'S REPORT MEMBERS PRESENT CORRESPONDENCE: OLD BUSINESS: • Watched a video on the Turtle fire system to combat EV thermal runaway fires; prices from Pomasl and 2 others are about $3,000 • No need to decide on purchasing Turtle system tonight, do some research and bring up next month; motion to table decision until next meeting by Matt, seconded by Don M • Discussion on how to fight EV fires: runoff issues, wrecker is about 45 minutes out if they opt to tow an EV that has been/is on fire; option to hook up burning EV to Rescue and drag it from other cars/structures; some tow yards use concrete bunkers for storage of EVs • WinMan trails has a lot of EVs in parking lot at times • Wildland fire training scheduled on 2/24/26 • On 2/25/26 and 2/26/26 there is training in St Germain, can be found on DNR website • Replacement gear ordered for Cory and Bill • North star did oil change on Winchester 91 • Engine 1-noticed water on bottom of truck after valve repairs, not sure why • Fire inspections totaled 53, 100% compliance. Done and approved • Fire class in Mani scheduled to start on 3/4/26; more members needed (about 8 to hold a class); reach out if can to increase membership NEW BUSINESS: • ACTIVITIES: • EMR Class 108 hr course started January 7, 2026 Wednesday’s 6-9 pm.
