. Old Business –
• Guest Houses
Discussion about the history of legislation of guest houses regulation in Presque Isle was reviewed. Forest was
asked on his recollection of guest house issues in his term of service. Al reported from personal recollection
guest houses have been in existence for a very long time. Patrick wondered why there is objections to renting
out guest houses. Septic tank inspection relating to properties with a primary residence & guest house entered
the discussion. Al stated that the town board would like to have the zoning committee investigate the subject
and report back. Members of committee were asked to review guest house regulation and report back next
month.
• Section 902.6 and subsequent sections
Tabled
• Status of Vilas Co. review/approval on initial P.I. Storage Container regulation & revision of current P.I. Camp-
ing regulation
Peggy reported from Vilas County Zoning Administrator Dave Saddenwasser that the proposed P.I. shipping con-
tainer ordinance will be reviewed & voted on Aug. 5th during County Zoning Committee meeting, and those ac-
tions/recommendations will be acted upon by the county board Aug. 25th, to also include our camping modifica-
tions proposal.
• Maple Road/Drive update
Al reported that he spent an substantial amount of time investigating the history of Maple Road/Drive. Al also
reported from his investigation, the title developer who was the original conveyor of the property never deeded
the road to the township, as he indicated he would. It appears that the “road” designation is the correct desig-
nation. Al reported the town will probably start communicating with property owners regarding the future of
the road.

7. Zoning Administrator Report
Forest reported that an individual approached him about a dry boathouse. Committee thought that it was a county
zoning jurisdiction issue. Bob did a quick search online & verified it was a county issue.
8 .General Discussion
Carl brought it to committees’ attention that our present documentation on lot size on off-water lots was out-of-date
from our recent experience with potential EMS lot off Hwy. B. Discussion continued about the original P.I. 1958 zoning
ordinance.
Dick Logan(County Board) joined the meeting via phone and gave a general briefing on county zoning and local
township ordinances dovetailing together.
