Town Board — Minutes

Town of Drammen Town Meeting Minutes January 13, 2025 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ed Risler with all board members present. Town residents, Elizabeth Lutes, Jim Williams, Tim Hoverson, Michael Isaacson, Daniel Staab, and Greg Lampman were also in attendance. Motion to approve the December Minutes made by Jeff Larson and seconded by Joe Becker. Motion carried. Motion to approve the December treasurer’s report made by Joe Becker and seconded by Jeff Larson. The treasurer updated the board on a correction of the checks to Eau Claire due to an error by Eau Claire County. Motion carried. Motion to approve the January bills made by Jeff Larson and seconded by Joe Becker with the addition of Tru Lock Security for security cameras in the amount of $2480.00. Motion carried. Reviewed the letter sent by the Humane Society for the dogs running at large, discussed generating a policy for fines for township residents that do not license their dogs in the township. The clerk will investigate and generate a policy line for review in February. Plowing of personal driveways was discussed and it was agreed that the service would be discontinued for all private parties including the three churches in the township. Plowing in the case of Emergencies was discussed and will be done on a case by case basis. Distributed the latest changes to the Town Comp rehensive Plan for review and will discuss in February. The clerk will investigate a possible meeting with Eau Claire County to discuss. Distributed the draft Annual Report for review and will discuss in February for final changes and approval in March. Distributed boundary maps of the Town of Drammen as requested by the board. Tim Hoverson brough t up the poor state of the Town’s chainsaws and a bid for two different types of new replacements. Joe Becker made a motion, and Jeff Larson seconded the motion to purchase the MS261c Chainsaw from Tractor Central. Motion carried. Tim Hoverson has action to purchase. Daniel Staab discussed an issue with the new blacktop on Maple Ridge Road and the problem with its connection to his driveway in that it is not graded correctly and causes his trailers to bottom out. Town chair will investigate. The treasurer read a letter to the board from a town resident requesting the ability to pay property taxes electronically. This issue was discussed and denied due to the unreasonably high cost to the township. This issue was previously discussed in Eau Claire County and the township with all parties agreeing it was cost prohibitive. Clerk will generate a response letter.
