August 13, 2026 Meeting Minutes Town of Washington/Vilas County Page 1 Town of Washington Vilas County, Wisconsin Minutes August 2026 Special Meeting of the Washington Board of Supervisors Thursday, August 13, 2026, 5:15 pm, at the Washington Town Hall Located at 2301 Town Hall Rd Visit the town website for more information town-of-washington.org Board Members Present: Jim Egan Town Chairman Art Granat (Excused) Town Supervisor Carole Linn Town Supervisor Tiffany Bolte Town Treasurer Nancy Sobralski Town Clerk There were no other people in attendance Meeting Minutes: 1 Call to Order Meeting called to order at 5:15 pm 2 Pledge of Allegiance Recited by all 3 Verification of Postings Sobralski stated the agenda was properly posted at the Chain O Lakes Mart, MJ’s Wayside, the Town Hall and on the Town's website. Local news media were notified more than 24 hours in advance. 4 Room Tax Commission Representative Egan advises Sue Saxhaug is willing to continue as the Town of Washington Room Tax Commission Representative. Motion Egan to maintain Saxhaug as town representative. Seconded – Linn All voting aye – approved 5 Fire Department Budget Update No representatives from the fire department attended the meeting. Discussed concerns about the funding request and shortened timeframe to complete. The biggest concern is the differing methods of increasing the tax levy for the City of Eagle vs. the towns. Other concerns include long term tax levy requirements and impacts, the current Joint Municipal Fire Commission agreement should be updated, outcomes for all municipalities if one municipality decides to end services, and the need for legal counsel. 6 Adjournment Motion - Egan Seconded - Linn All voting aye – Approved Meeting adjourned at 5.43 pm.
