Page 1 of 2 Town of Merton Town Board Meeting Minutes of August 24, 2026 • Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Klink 6:30 pm • Pledge of Allegiance led by Chairman Klink • Minutes of the July 27, 2026 Town Board Meeting. A motion to approve the Minutes of July 27, 2026 Town Board Meeting with one correction was made by Herrick/Olson. Motion carried. Present: Chairman Klink, Supervisors Herrick, Olson, Fleming, and Krogmann, DPW Director Griffin, Treasurer Kempen and Clerk Hann. Absent: Supervisor Fleming and Attorney Murn. Also in attendance: Chief Wraalstad, Asst. Chief Hoffman, Jenny Nelson, Michelle Streuss, Carol Bohmann, Linda Ziemer. Citizen Comments and Concerns: Chief Wraalstad handed out the patrol summary and reported on Camp Whitcomb Road and complaints on speeding. Signs were put up to try and help with speeding. With schools starting they are working with Waukesha County Sheriff Department. Asst. Chief Hoffman gave an up-to-date report for the Board. There has been an increase from last year’s call volume. There will be a joint owners meeting on September 9 @ 6:00 pm at the Oconomowoc Policy Department. Old Business: None New Business: Presentation from Rural Mutual and the Horton Group. Jenny Nelson from Rural Mutual did a presentation on insurance coverage thru Rural Mutual. Michelle Streuss from the Horton Group did a presentation on insurance coverage thru The Horton Group. Chairman Klink thanked each of the companies coming in to review each company. Consider/Act on Resolution to Combine Polling Places for Waukesha County Special Election. Clerk Hann received notice that Waukesha County has to have a Special Election for County Executive and is requesting to have this election at the townhall and not have two polling place. This would also apply if there would be a primary November 17. A motion to approve the Resolution to Combine Polling Places for the Waukesha County Special Election on December 15 with a possible Primary November 17 was made by Herrick/Olson. Motion Carried. Consider/Act on Outdoor Event and Parking for Jean Schlidt. Clerk Hann stated that this is an annual request and there have been no problems in the past. A motion to approve the outdoor event and parking for Jean Schlidt was made by Herrick/Krogmann. Motion carried. Consider/Act on Outdoor Event for Harvest Fest on September 19, 2026. DPW Director stated that Park Drive will be closed all weekend including Monday morning for the Page 2 of 2 event. A motion to approve the outdoor event for Harvest Fest was made by Herrick/Krogmann. Motion Carried. Consider/Act on Outdoor Event for Stone Bank community Connect for Outdoor Concert on August 28, 2026. A motion to approve the outdoor event for Stone Bank Community Connect for outdoor concert was made by Herrick/Krogman. Motion Carried. Discussion on Budget Schedule. Clerk Hann talked about dates to have the budget workshop. Tuesday, September 2 was scheduled for the first meeting Clerk, Board, Highway, Treasurer and Attorney Reports. Supervisor Herrick said there is a meeting for North Lake Management District coming. DPW Director reported on the disease that is killing deer in the town. Vouchers as Presented – A motion to approve the vouchers as presented was made by Krogmann/Olson. Motion carried. Adjourn - A motion to adjourn was made by Olson/Herrick. Motion carried.
