Report from Committee to Review the Comprehensive Plan
On July 2, 2026, the committee met. All members were present except for Tim Schmitt.
Marie Barry moved and Deb Brucaya seconded, that the report of the Community Engagement meeting be approved. Approval was unanimous.
Committee members reported on their activities related to the committee’s work since the last meeting. Tim Bahls presented a further refinement of his tool to analyze the Community Survey. He will provide a link to that tool to the Town Clerk, so that she can make the link available on the Town’s website. Marie Barry will do a report on the comments received from the public at the Community Engagement meeting, and present that at our next meeting. Deb Brucaya will do a report of what actions people requested, in the Community Survey, that the Town Board take. Ann Sayles will continue working on the project of determining how many land divisions remain available in the Town of Montrose.
The committee agreed that all members will review the land use plan. Before the next meeting, each committee member will submit written suggestions on any changes they think should be made to the plan. Marie Barry will set up a sharing mechanism on Google Drive. That document will be made available to anyone who wishes to see it.
Discussion of the land use plan will be the principal business of the next meeting. Members will also review the current comprehensive plan and decide which parts they would like to work on in small groups.
We will attempt to have our meetings on the second Thursday of each month. Next meeting will be held Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. at the Town Hall.
