Town of Perry Minutes of Land Use Committee Meeting Wednesday, August 5, 2026 Perry Town Hall, 10084 County Highway A 1. Call to Order. Committee Chairman Dean Vogel called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM. Committee members Jeff Anderson, Kevin Hefty, Bird Cupps, Jordan Abruzzo and Clerk/Treasurer Stephanie Zwettler were present. 2. Minutes of Previous Meeting – July 1, 2026. Kevin Hefty moved and Jeff Anderson seconded a motion to approve the minutes of the Land Use Committee meeting held on July 1, 2026, as presented. Motion carried. 3. Town Comprehensive Plan – review and edit Element 8, “Land Use.” Committee members reviewed updates from previous meetings, the Town of Vermont’s Ridgetop Protection Program, and a map identifying Resource Protection Corridors, Choice Farmland, and slopes of 20% or greater. The Committee added additional criteria to protect ridgetops, included the 66-foot road frontage requirement to comply with the Dane County Zoning ordinance, removed the “Resource Protection Corridors” section, and deleted a listing of conditional uses by zoning district from the Conditional Use Permit section. Committee members began developing suitability criteria to assist in evaluating sites. The Committee will continue editing the “Land Use” section at the next meeting. 4. Pending applications – review and discussion. Clerk Stephanie Zwettler reported that an accessory building, but no application has been submitted at this time. 5. Schedule meetings. Site views will be held on August 29, and the meeting and public hearings will be held on September 2, 2026, for applications submitted by August 15, 2026. 6. Adjourn. Kevin Hefty moved and Bird Cupps seconded a motion to adjourn. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 9:08 PM.
