Town of Sharon Board Meeting
Thursday, May 14, 2026 – 6:30 p.m.
Sharon Town Hall
1.Call to Order: Chairman Check called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
2. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
3.Roll Call: Chairman Check, Supervisor Gibbs, Supervisor Gagas, Clerk Treasurer Filtz,
Joe Jakubek and a few other town residents were present.
4. Notice of Meeting Postings: Notice of the meeting was posted in three places in the
Town of Sharon (town hall window, kiosk between Sylvia’s and Polonia Café, kiosk in
front of North Star Machine) and on the town website and Facebook.
5. Approval of Agenda: Motion made by Supervisor Gibbs, seconded by Supervisor
Gagas to approve the agenda. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried.
6. Approval of Minutes of April 9, 2026, Board Meeting: Motion made by Supervisor
Gagas, seconded by Supervisor Gibbs to approve the Minutes. Ayes: All. Nays: None.
Motion carried.
7. Approval of the Bill Listing for April 10, 2026, through May 14, 2026: Motion made by
Supervisor Gibbs, seconded by Supervisor Gagas to approve the Bill Listing. Ayes: All.
Nays: None. Motion carried.
8. Plan Commission Report: Supervisor Gibbs did not have a Plan Commission report this
month. However, he reported on the status of the Fox Lane road abandonment. The
next step is to get signatures to abandon the road and then go to public hearing. A
map of the parts of Fox Lane to be abandoned has been provided to the town
attorney. Supervisor Bills also reported on his discussion with Portage County Planning
and Zoning regarding the separation of parcels by a town road and that the County
considers this a non-buildable parcel.
9. Polonia Park Commission Report: Park Commission Co-Chair Lori Printz gave a report
to the Board.
10. Chairman’s Report: Bruce Boenski, Sharon EMS, had to leave on an emergency call
so no report was given.
Chairman Check met with Dexter from Gremmer & Assoc and they will be starting with
the Twin Lakes Road project and around the end of May more information will be
known. The State approved moving the money over from the Twin Lakes road project
to Bentley Road but we need to wait to get a letter from the State authorizing this

before bids can be obtained. American Asphalt ground pavement on Jacqueline Lake
and they have been marking for chip sealing. Reimbursement for the snow and ice
storms has been submitted to the County. Joe gave the Board a proposal from Fahrner
to seal cracks for Ellis, Edgewood and Hillcrest Roads for $6,425.
Adjournment: Motion made by Supervisor Gibbs, seconded by Supervisor Gagas to
adjourn. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:17 p.m.
